1. Cookie for your chosen language
When you choose a language from the menu, the promotional website saves its code in the restmap_language cookie on this device. Simply opening a page does not create this cookie.
The cookie is used to display your chosen language the next time you visit the main website address. It does not contain your name, email, precise coordinates or history of viewed events.

2. Automatic language selection
The language in the link you open takes priority. At the main restmap.app address, the website first uses a language you previously chose manually. If there is no saved choice, it offers a supported language for the connection country, then a suitable browser language; otherwise it uses English. Languages explicitly excluded by the browser are not used for country-based selection.
The approximate country is determined from the IP address on the RestMap server using a local DB-IP Lite Country database. The visitor’s IP address is not sent to DB-IP or another external service for this lookup. Precise coordinates and location permission are not needed; the result is not added to a profile and does not create a location history or a separate cookie.
The country estimate may be wrong, for example when using a VPN or a network in another region. You can always choose a language manually, and that choice takes priority over automatic detection. Normal server logs may contain the IP address independently of language selection.
3. Analytics and advertising
This version of the promotional website does not include advertising pixels or web analytics scripts. The only cookie set by the promotional page code stores the language preference.
The website’s hosting server may receive normal HTTP request data, including the IP address. Its logs and other infrastructure tools are covered separately in the Privacy Policy. This page does not claim that the mobile app contains no analytics SDKs.
4. How to change or delete your choice
Choose another language from the menu to update the saved preference. To remove the preference, delete the RestMap website cookie in your browser settings.
If cookies are blocked, the website remains available: you can open a link in the language you want, but your choice may not be saved between visits. Clearing cookies does not delete your account in the app.
